Prop Bets For No. 11 Duke Men's Basketball Vs. Georgia Tech
The Blue Devils return to Cameron on Saturday in another ACC game against Georgia Tech. Before the game, Blue Zone offers you inexplicable bets.
Duke (-17.5) vs. Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets are struggling to find success in the ACC after beating Duke in Atlanta. The team travels to Durham riding a four-game losing streak with conference losses to Florida State, Boston College and Notre Dame.
The Blue Devils are now on a seven-game winning streak dating back to their last game against Georgia Tech. This season was marked by the absence of sophomore forward Mark Mitchell, sophomore shooting guard Jared McCain, sophomore Tyrese Proctor and a significant development in mental toughness. After a tough opening loss on the road with a win over Bayer at Madison Square Garden and big conference away wins at Notre Dame and Pittsburgh, it was clear that Saturday wasn't the Duke team it appeared to be. Yellow vests in early December.
Given these teams' mixed seasons and the Blue Devils' impressive 4-1 record in their last five games against expansion, Duke should pull out a comfortable win at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Pick: Duke -17.5
Up to /146.5
Expect the Blue Devils to be in control of the standings, even if they have a good chance of winning. Duke's 14th-ranked KenPom defense has consistently allowed opponents to score average points. In three of the last five games, it was crucial to limit the point difference between the opposing teams. Georgia Tech is averaging 72.4 points per game as a team, good for 136th in KenPom's Adjusted Offensive Efficiency Rating, and it's hard to see anything more than 146 points on Saturday.
Selection: Under 146.5
Jared McCain dropped 12.5 points
Jared McCann's performance in the December game between these teams was poor. The freshman is 3-10 from the floor and 0-3 from beyond the arc. He heads into the competition with seven more games under his belt and in an exciting home environment at Cameron Indoor, the 6ft 2in goalkeeper is expected to be even more effective this time around.
The defensive dominance of Georgia Tech freshman Bay Ndongo was noticeable in the pregame. The forward had a wall in the paint and recorded four blocks and a steal. While staying inside may require adjustments from coach John Sher, the team is prioritizing McCain's volume skills from deep and spreading the floor while Ndongo waits on the sidelines.
Selection: More than 12.5 points
