Xiaomi 12T Pro Smartphone Review
Xiaomi has been booming lately and the Xiaomi 12T Pro is no exception. In 2021 and 2022 they launched amazing new smartphones and brought great new technologies to the world. From the 120W charging power of the Xiaomi 12 series devices to the incredible Xiaomi 12S Ultra camera, Xiaomi is a brand that likes to push the boundaries of what people expect from smartphones. The Xiaomi 12T Pro represents an incremental improvement over the rest of the 12 series. The Xiaomi 12T Pro is the industry's first device to feature a 200MP camera on a smartphone, and the results are amazing.
Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone theme
At first glance, the Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone looks very similar to the Xiaomi 12 Pro and most other 12 series phones. The phone retains the clean lines and large camera bulge found in the rest of the range, with a 6.67 inch screen at 120Hz CrystalRes AMOLED matrix display perfectly mounted on a metal frame. On the back, like the other 12 phones in the range, you'll find a back with a matte anti-glare finish that comes in three understated colors (black, silver and blue) that look great. Hand .
On the right side of the phone are the power and volume jacks, one of the speakers and IR blaster are on top, while the other dock, USB-C port and SIM card tray are on the bottom. 12T Foreground. As with all flagships released in recent years, you won't find a 3.5mm audio jack on the Xiaomi 12T Pro and you're limited to the amount of storage available on the device with no more space. with SD card.
At 205 g, the Xiaomi 12T Pro weighs the same as the Xiaomi 12 Pro and fits perfectly in the hand with its dimensions (163.1 mm x 75.9 mm x 8.6 mm). Xiaomi seems to make the best of the 12 Series' design and I love it. It looks great and is easy to print, store and carry around all day. The screen also has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, so you should be assured that nothing will happen to your phone during normal use.
Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone screen
The display shows what's possible in a $1,000 device, and Xiaomi goes all out with a 6.67-inch, 120Hz AMOLED display. Like many 2022 flagships, including Xiaomi's 12 Pro, the 120- Hz display smoothly and makes even the most casual tasks smooth and fast. It's surprising how beautiful the screen is, especially when compared to screens that max out at 90Hz. It feels smoother overall.
With an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a resolution of 2712 x 1220 with a pixel density of 446 ppi, the screen of the Xiaomi 12T Pro smartphone is clear and bright. With 500 nits of brightness, a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and the integration of Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Adaptive HDR make movies, games and any other media you choose to play look great. It's amazing how far smartphone displays have come, and the Xiaomi 12T Pro's display is a great example.
The Xiaomi 12T Pro also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and it works flawlessly. I've had problems with Xiaomi phones in the past, but it looks like they solved it here. Even if the phone is wet in the rain, it will unlock the phone quickly without repeating unlocking over and over again. In many ways, Xiaomi has been a leader in the Android phone space and it's great to see them leading the industry again in what has been a difficult space in the past.
The monitor also features an AdaptiveSync display that can be adjusted from 120Hz to 30Hz depending on what you're doing to save battery. I never felt the need to use the phone, and even when logging into Twitter or other social media apps, the software did an excellent job of setting it up, making everything smooth and responsive using the 12T Pro a pleasure made me. . everyday driver..
Performance and specifications of the Xiaomi 12T Pro
The Xiaomi 12T Pro is equipped with a 3.2GHz Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC and 8GB LPDDR5 RAM to ensure the phone can handle everything it has to offer. With a score of 2,699 on 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme and 1,286 single-core scores and 4,021 multi-core scores on Geek Bench, the Xiaomi 12T achieved some of our best results for a non-gaming phone, although the ASUS ROG Phone 6 this could surpass performance, it is also significantly larger, making it less suitable for regular phone buyers.
When gaming, I was very impressed with how well the Xiaomi 12T Pro handles the most intense tasks. From Fortnite to Genshin Impact, the powerful internals and smooth 120Hz display make gaming a real pleasure. Even in the performance modes, it seemed to enhance the gaming experience even further, resulting in a near-flawless gaming experience in our testing. I had no issues with the games I tried playing on the phone, most of the apps I tried provided the best experience I've had on the sub-$1000 flagship, and everything looked and sounded good .
This brings me to the next important point that makes the Xiaomi 12T Pro a powerful multimedia center, namely the tunable dual speakers from Harman Kardon with Dolby Atmos support. I never expect much from a smartphone, especially internal speakers, but the 12T Pro delivers rich, clear and deep sound. People used to the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max might not be surprised, but for everyone else, this is a huge step forward for Android smartphones and perfect for media, streaming, and gaming.
This brings us to MIUI with Android 12 and honestly I'm impressed with what Xiaomi has brought. MIUI has been criticized in the past, particularly for being bloated at times, but Xiaomi has put in the work and released a fast, intuitive and responsive operating system. It has all the features you would expect from a modern smartphone OS and everything seems to fall into place. I'd still like to see an overall improvement, with some aspects and tweaks that feel a bit slow at times, but it has a slight impact on improving the experience.
I will say that MIUI still feels a bit cluttered with junk apps as the phone comes preinstalled with things like AliExpress, Genshin Impact and many duplicate apps. They weren't difficult to remove, most of them requiring simple removal, but smartphone buyers don't need to waste time uninstalling apps when the phone is first turned on. I hope Xiaomi downplays these future offerings because they detract from the experience, especially if you don't want any of them on your device.
Xiaomi 12T Pro battery performance
I was impressed with the Xiaomi 12 Pro, so it's no surprise that I'm also impressed with the Xiaomi 12T Pro's battery life. The 5000mAh capacity is more than capable of keeping you going all day without fatigue. Even with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC and a 6.67-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, you can easily get up to 13.5 hours of screen time on the 12T Pro.
This is an area where many other flagships have been missing, offering big batteries but little to keep up with the performance under the hood. Thankfully, Xiaomi has taken all of this seriously and introduced a flagship battery that can last as long as its users. As if that wasn't enough, the Xiaomi 12T Pro also comes with 120W HyperCharging with a powerful onboard charger that can charge from 0-100% in just 20 minutes.
After using the Xiaomi 12T Pro for the past two weeks, I never had to worry about running out of battery even while gaming. Fast charging made it easier to charge my smartphone before going out at night, which meant I spent more time enjoying life and less time worrying about the battery gauge.
A notable omission of the Xiaomi 12T Pro is wireless charging, and I was initially annoyed to see it but eventually made up for it by including 120W HyperCharging. I like being able to plug my phone into the charger while working during the day; It makes it less of a hassle when I stop for a moment, but being able to reload in minutes instead of hours makes it less necessary. I hope Xiaomi will include it in their flagships in the future, but this iteration will pass.
Xiaomi 12T Pro Camera
The biggest change from the 12T is seen in the camera hump, with a 200-megapixel camera just below the flash, a triple-camera system that will make many budget phone makers reconsider the 20-megapixel shooter they've boasted of. The Xiaomi 12T has a Samsung ISOCELL HP1 1/1.22 wide-angle sensor with a resolution of 200 MP. This is coupled with an 8 MP ultra wide camera and a 2 MP macro camera. On the front you will find a very powerful 20 MP front camera.
"With built-in 2x optical zoom sensors, the Xiaomi 12T Pro takes full advantage of the large 1/1.22" image sensors..."
The main shooter is a real MVP on this phone, taking great detailed shots that look amazing on any screen. While the Xiaomi 12 Pro was a powerful camera, the Xiaomi 12T Pro 200MP Camera leads the industry by offering consumers a range of features that most of them will not take full advantage of.
With the 2x optical zoom built into the sensor, the Xiaomi 12T Pro makes full use of its large 1/1.22-inch image sensors to capture perfect shots. The phone is also capable of taking great night shots thanks to its super 16 in 1 2.56 pixels , 8P lens, OIS and Xiaomi night mode. The 12T Pro features advanced software algorithms that allow users to capture shots even when they're not focused on their subject.
Although it's easy to list many features, the Xiaomi 12T Pro manages to use these features to take truly amazing and clear photos. A simple shooter has everything needed, capturing detail, color and sharpness that will amaze many small phones. I don't know if Xiaomi's image processing is as good as Google, Apple or Samsung, but I'm more than happy with the results I've seen during testing. I was incredibly impressed with the night mode, which managed to deliver results where only other phones can handle a botched photo.
Unfortunately, the 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera and the 2-megapixel macro camera are not particularly impressive. When you have a basic camera that produces results this clear, the lower spec options look shocking in comparison. I'm glad Xiaomi showed off a whole range of rear camera options. I wish the featured cameras were more consistent.
Video recording on the Xiaomi 12T Pro is excellent in bright light, and the image stabilization works effectively at 60fps even at 8K or 4K resolutions. Designed for creative people, this phone delivers great results on the first try. It would be a great phone that would take full advantage of a 200MP camera, but even without the extras the Xiaomi 12T Pro has everything you need for video and photos provided you use the main camera. .
When I first saw the details of the Xiaomi 12T Pro I thought it was just a simple upgrade to an already great phone, but now that I've spent some time with the device I'm impressed. There are a few smart hardware upgrades that further enhance an already excellent display. Starting with a very attractive price range of $821 to $841, the 12T Pro punches above the weight bracket and is a worthy flagship smartphone for anyone looking for their next imaging device.
