Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED Vs. Samsung The Frame TV
When you turn off the TV , the picture may disappear and the screen may go dark. Some new TVs are designed to display more. When you're not actually watching TV, this big screen can display artwork, photos, weather reports, and more. can show.
The most famous of these TVs is The Frame from Samsung, which has been around for several years . Amazon's new Fire TV Omni is QLED , released in late 2022. They have a few things in common, including access to thousands of museum-grade artworks, and a few differences. Go inside.
The Omni QLED version of the Fire TV Omni will add a QLED display and other picture quality improvements. They also have sensors that detect when you're indoors and automatically activate to display artwork, gadgets or other content. If that sounds sad, you're not alone.
Samsung's original "TV as art" frame looks more like a painting than a TV. It offers several frame options, and the new 2022 version has a screen designed to reduce glare and accurately mimic canvas.
Frames: Larger, more expensive, custom frames
The first thing you'll notice is that the bezel is twice as large as the overall Omni QLED. On the other hand, Samsung TVs are available in various sizes from 32 inches to 85 inches.

Note that prices may vary, but this is what you get.

Free graphics on the Omni QLED, but not in the frame.
Both TVs let you view your digital photos and other files you own, as well as an ambient mode that shows a clock and some mood and design screens. But the main feature of each of them is the art mode, which presents paintings and other works of art from several major museums.
- Amazon Fire TV Omni offers 1,500 shows in its collection, and it's free.
- Samsung's QLED Frame TV offers 2,000 works of art in the Samsung Art Store, and the subscription fee is $5 per month.
Image quality and other features
Most people don't buy bezel-less TVs as a big purchase, but there are a few other similarities and differences worth noting. Both TVs have built-in Smart TV, Samsung's Omni Frame and Fire TV systems, and use QLED technology for enhanced brightness and color. We haven't reviewed either TV yet, so we can't say how the picture quality compares, but the main differences are:
- Fire TV Omni features full-array local dimming that improves contrast and HDR by independently controlling brightness in different areas of the screen. There is no local blur in the frame.
- The bezel has a matte display with an anti-reflective coating designed to control glare, and Samsung screens in previous reviews have done a great job with this.
- The Fire TV Omni has a presence sensor that detects when you're home and turns on automatically. It also has a remote-controlled microphone, so you can give voice commands without being noticed. The frame has a motion sensor that can turn off the TV when you leave, but it only works in smart mode.
- The picture frame has a thin wall mount for wall decoration. The Omni QLED can also be wall-mounted, but you'll need to purchase the stand separately.
The Samsung Frame is already out, and the Amazon Fire TV Omni will arrive in October.
