Thibault's attorney, Morrison & Foerster LLP, later clarified that his client had retired from the FBI and had not been fired, forced to retire or asked to retire. Popolinsky said in an interview with Tucker Carlson that the FBI did not call him after the 2020 election and that his last contact with Biden was when James Biden's phone number called during the FBI interview.
