Furthermore, POCO has announced that it will bring Xiaomi's HyperOS to the POCO F5. The company says the 2023 release will be the first to bring changes to additional hardware that will arrive "later."
Xiaomi said that owners of the aforementioned devices will receive the OTA update “gradually”, so the release will not be quick. The software replaces the brand's MIUI for the new HyperOS, which Xiaomi called "human-centric" when the 14 and 14 Pro were launched.
Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun announced the change on Weibo in October (via 9to5Google). The company turned to software designed for "people, cars and home ecosystems." However, since HyperOS is integrated into Android systems, the announcement of Xiaomi's new software has not yet been announced. It also promotes a "self-updating Vela system" and a "complete rewrite of the original architecture".
The Chinese OEM expands what users can expect from HyperOS, where devices will increase computing power and reduce delays in transmission and message passing. Additionally, HyperOS is said to be lighter on the user's device memory due to internal changes.
HyperOS offers new lock screen customization options for wallpapers and “Flippy Frame” to create a more immersive experience on large tablet displays. Along with the advanced deployment software, Xiaomi plans to offer more vibrant colors with the updated operating system interface.
