3 EyeCatching Features Of The New Oppo Find X7 Ultra
Oppo has announced their new flagship smartphone Oppo Find X7 Ultra. There are three features that caught my attention: camera, design and display.
Oppo has added four lenses to the main camera unit, all of which have 50-megapixel sensors. They have two telephoto lenses and both have a periscope zoom feature. The x3 and x6 combination allows Oppo to cover a zoom range between 14mm and 270mm, albeit with an AI-enhanced zoom function in its software.
Surprisingly, Oppo doesn't rely too much on the use of "artificial intelligence". The press release only shows this once in the aforementioned "AI-powered Zoom" software. Instead, they continued to use "computational photography" for these functions and integrated them into a "hypertone image engine", resulting in more natural image processing and reproduction.
The partnership with Hasselblad brings a portrait mode that mimics the four specific focal points of the Hasselblad range, as well as a master mode that gives users access to "a range of advanced controls, including manual ISO, shutter speed, EV, focus, etc. " White balance...saturation, contrast, sharpness and vignetting controls.” The aim is to reproduce the functions of the Hasselblad X2D 100C.
As with all new smartphone launches, a lot of emphasis is placed on the camera technology. This is one area where more innovation could be incorporated into the phone and the launch phase. This is something that consumers can easily recognize.
We'll have to wait for the review to come out to know how it works in practice.
Since smartphones have adopted the "display everything" principle on the front of the device (only annoying bezels and selfie cameras stand in the way), the design and fashion features on the back of the phone must deliver something amazing. Oppo does this with its split design. The raised camera island remains the focus, but if you were hoping for a large, glass-covered bottom of the phone, you get a textured cover instead of cool material. You won't notice it when using the phone (and in most cases the material will undoubtedly cover it), but it gives the Find X7 Ultra a clear identity in the market.
Ads are what you see. Oppo comes with a 1600 nits display (which goes up to 4500 nits when watching HDR content). As DisplayMat's A+ rating proves, there's a lot going on here, with a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and support for the Ultra HDR standard.
But there is a problem. Currently, the Oppo Find X7 Ultra is not a global phone. The model unveiled today will only be available in China and Oppo has not revealed its plans for an international variant. Given Oppo's launch pattern so far, debuting in China before confirming an international launch at a later date, I'm sure the rest of the world will see the Find X7 soon.
