OPPO ColorOSHack 2023 Finals Wrap Up: All You Need To Know

OPPO has named the top three teams of the OPPO ColorOSHack 2023 after showcasing the innovative designs of the final ten teams during the grand finale in Kuala Lumpur.

Nicole Zhang, Chief Director of OPPO Software Innovation Center, expressed her gratitude to the global developer community for their continued support. He said: “The smart products and experiences we have offered to users so far are just the beginning. We look to the future by collaborating with developers around the world to create services that deeply understand and intelligently address user needs.

Pantanal Developer Services: catalyzing innovation and stimulating development

OPPO's annual ColorOSHack competition has become a driving force for innovation since its inception in 2021. This year's theme was "Pantanal Service: Empowering Life through Intelligence", with a specific focus on the Asia-Pacific region and three priority areas: daily life, transport and entertainment. The competition encouraged participants to familiarize themselves with the Pantanal platform, develop intelligent services for any of the three domains, and develop scenarios and interaction models to create a new service model for the Asia-Pacific market. The contest has been running for more than 150 days since it was launched in July and has attracted more than 200 participants from more than 50 countries and regions around the world.

Pantanal platform features, including Aqua Dynamics, first introduced in ColorOS 14, provide a development environment where the service is built from a single model and then automatically adapts to be compatible with different devices and access points. These tools greatly improve developer productivity. OPPO provides resources such as video tutorials, written tutorials, code documentation, Pantanal IDE and Pantanal IDE to help developers navigate Pantanal easily.

Expanding the ecosystem to drive global innovation

OPPO ColorOSHack 2023 is based on three main scenarios and is complemented by a set of new and improved services for developers. The competition attracted an impressive number of participants, ten of whom qualified for the final. These projects dealt with various scenarios like navigation, payments, social interactions, education, healthcare and much more. After a rigorous three-hour final round, a jury composed of OPPO experts and industry experts from the Asia-Pacific region evaluated each team's work based on its application prospects and innovation and selected the three best winning teams. Each winning team will receive cash prizes to support the incubation and implementation of their products.

Malaysian team End2End's transport and payment project "NavOpp" won first place. The app supports transport and payment services across devices, and uses Pantanal's contextual capabilities to ensure a seamless flow of information and services.

With ColorOSHack 2023, OPPO has made it easier for developers to join worldwide. Pantanal Developer Services has simplified the development process by eliminating the need to understand the complex hardware of multiple devices. Building on the open capabilities of the Pantanal platform, OPPO ColorOS will continue to provide developers with a solid foundation for innovation and a platform to showcase their creations. This initiative brings together developers, entrepreneurs and startups to develop and implement innovative solutions, improving the lives of 600 million ColorOS users with smarter solutions.
