Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro Could Rival IPad Pro With A Better Display
The Xiaomi Pad 5 is the company's current generation Android tablet. It started with the 9th generation iPad, but it has what it takes to be a worthy iPad competitor in Android land. In fact, this is my favorite Android tablet recommendation and could easily be recommended over an iPad. Xiaomi looks set to build on the success of its 2022 Android tablets to build momentum in 2023.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 series is said to be in the works. According to a recent report from XiaomiUI, the company is preparing to launch two Pad 6 models in 2023. One of them could compete with the iPad, while the other could compete with the iPad Air or even the iPad Pro. Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro have appeared in MIUI code.
Does the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro compete with the iPad Pro?
Starting with Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro codenamed "liuqin" and model number M81 with AMOLED display. For reference, the iPad Pro comes with a mini-LED display, and future models are expected to switch display technology to OLED. The presence of AMOLED means darker blacks and better contrast on tablets. It may also have a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1880 x 2880 pixels.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro may be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is not Qualcomm's latest mobile processor. But it's a big step up from the Snapdragon 870 in the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro. This makes it a worthy competitor to the iPad Pro. While the latter tend to be more powerful with the PC's M2 chip, Android tablets can have better multitasking capabilities thanks to MIUI's multi-window support and window suspension.
On the optical side, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro can be equipped with two cameras on the back. The main camera is likely to come with a depth sensor. And the front camera should be placed on a horizontal side, which is better than the vertical selfie shooting position on the iPad Pro.
In terms of multimedia capabilities, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro may have a quad stereo speaker setup. From previous experience I expected the speakers to sound good because the Xiaomi Pad 5 is really good. However, the Pad 6 Pro is probably a pure Chinese tablet.
Xiaomi Pad 6 follows
The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro may be accompanied by the Xiaomi Pad 6, codenamed "Pipe" with the model number M82. The main difference is at the processor level. The Pad 6 is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is more efficient than the Xiaomi Pad 5's Snapdragon 860 chip.
Xiaomi Pad 6 may be the only one for the global market. It may be launched in Europe and India. I hope the tablet competes with Apple's 10th generation iPad tablet, which could keep things interesting in the tablet world. While the Xiaomi Pad 6 likely has a better display, the 10th-gen iPad should be the best choice for most people.
