Chap Accuses Twitch Of Taking Money And Disabling His Ads For Something He Didn't Do

Chap, a retired professional Fortnite player, accused Twitch of disabling ads on his channel for no reason and calling him a cheater.

Former professional Fortnite player Ryan "Chaplo" Chaplo has accused streaming platform Twitch of siphoning large amounts of money from his channel, as well as disabling ads on it. According to the streamer, he contacted his co-director and was told that his account had been flagged as fraudulent and that Twitch was looking into the situation.

Chap played professional Fortnite for Team Liquid and then Cloud 9 before being kicked out of Cloud 9 and concentrating on his broadcasting career. With over a million subscribers, Chap has a hugely popular Twitch channel and plays better than Fortnite first-person shooter The Cycle: Frontier . With so many followers, Chap was shocked to learn that the ads on his channel had been removed due to allegations of fraud by Twitch.

The press made the announcement through a Twitlonger message on the official Twitter account. The streaming platform disables ads on your channel for 90 days and apparently also removes most outstanding account balances. He said he posted because Twitch was not transparent about the issue and he believed it was the only way to resolve the situation. According to Chap, Twitch refused to disclose the reasons for his suspension, saying the only possible course of action was to plead guilty to undisclosed crimes. Not surprising given the dark history of Twitch bans and other punishments.

From a printer's point of view, this is definitely a big problem. Twitch is your main source of income, and if that income stops on Twitch at the end of the day for no reason, it must be very frustrating and stressful. While Twitter may have legitimate reasons for doing so, Chap says he has an impeccable four-year track record on the platform. This is a big difference from justified bans like Twitch banning controversial streamer ClawOnTwitch.

It doesn't seem reasonable for Twitch to take drastic measures and not tell the victim exactly what happened and why, especially when large sums of money were involved. With several popular Twitch streamers moving to YouTube, it makes sense for Twitch to be more transparent and partner with the big streamers on the platform so they don't lose more streamers to the competition. Regardless of how this guys event ends, other streamers will be more concerned with using Twitch as their main source of income.
