Xiaomi 14 Ultra Key Camera Details Leaked; Likely To Retain Placement As Xiaomi 13 Ultra

The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro with the new HyperOS interface were launched in China in October 2023, and now several rumors suggest that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could soon join the lineup. Recently, an alleged Xiaomi 14 Ultra glass cover surfaced online, revealing important details about the upcoming smartphone's camera. It may feature the same camera module design as its predecessor but has brighter lenses. The Chinese tech giant is rumored to launch the phone in March 2024.

A leaked image (via GSMArena) shows the glass covered with the Leica logo. The camera cutouts are the same as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, but the size of the lens holes is slightly larger, suggesting a brighter lens could be in the works. According to reports, the main camera may have an aperture of f/1.6 compared to the f/1.9 aperture of its predecessor.

The periscope camera is said to have a lens with an f/2.5 aperture instead of the f/3.0 aperture of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Previously, a tipster claimed that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could feature a Sony LYT-900 sensor for the main camera with variable aperture (f/1.63-f/2.5). An aspherical lens (ASPH) called Vario-Summilux 1:1.63-2.5/12-120 was also recommended. Furthermore, a 120mm periscope television camera is also mentioned in the leak.

Another report claims that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra may be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It may feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is rumored to have a 5180mAh battery with 90W wired charging support and 50 -W wireless charging support. The phone may have a slightly curved display.

According to the report, the Xiaomi 14 series is expected to launch in India at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024) along with other global markets. This year's annual event will take place February 26-29. However, the company did not comment on the presentation.

Xiaomi's flagship Model 14 was launched in China in October 2023 and features a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 1Hz - 120Hz and a maximum brightness of up to 3000 nits. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and has up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

Optically, the Xiaomi 14 is equipped with a 50-megapixel triple rear camera and a 32-megapixel front selfie camera. The smartphone packs a 4610mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.
