Twitter Sleuths Suggest A New Steam Deck Is On Its Way, But Any Updates Are Likely To Be For Valve's Benefit Not Ours
Valve is known to hide all information about its hardware plans until it hires the best psychics in the world to predict when something new is coming. But don't underestimate the hard work of tech enthusiasts, especially people like Brad Lynch, who have seen some interesting footage about possible changes or updates to Steam.
His latest post (as reported by The Verge) focuses on the so-called 1030 model, which appears to be a marked improvement over Valve's portable gaming PC. However, it's worth noting that changes are coming, and 1030 is not a Steam Deck 2 at all . Valve has clearly explained this issue. So if you are hoping for something more powerful coming soon. , you have to wait a long time.
But what exactly does the valve change? Steam Floor is made up of many components from different vendors, so bringing on a new vendor can be a challenge. Or simply replace the part with another cheaper specification or size to purchase the valve.
The most interesting thing is the presence of new little things, which all lead to lower energy consumption and therefore longer battery life. The other one includes a new display panel, but it can't be better , it's cheaper. Worst case scenario? Accessories are updated until it is no longer possible to distinguish between the updated model and the original.
It seems that the general expectation is that only the Wi-Fi module will be updated and that the updated model will have Wi-Fi 6E capabilities. Overall, does Steam really need this? Please reply to the postcard.

Steam Deck Battery Life: What is the actual battery life?
Since AMD's custom APUs require the most battery power available, an upgraded version is a great way to expand your gaming. But that means AMD would have to build with different technology or be significantly redesigned, making Valve more expensive to buy.
Personally I'm not very happy with all this news. It's really fun, but I can't see a better Steam Floor sign down the street. After all, I'm the world's worst psychic and I'll happily eat caramel cake if it turns out Valve is going to surprise us all with something more powerful than a live update.
