Victrola Vinyl Decks Turn To AptX Adaptive For HiRes Audio Streaming
The Victola audio brand focuses on the latest wireless technology to make classic-style turntables attractive across all genres. The Victrola Hi-Res Carbon and Hi-Red Onyx turntables feature Qualcomm aptX adaptive technology to play music in a nearly lossless format.
The manufacturer has implemented new technology concepts in the past, with cards ideal for connecting to Sonos systems, but the latest pair supports Bluetooth 5.4 to provide a more stable connection and higher bitrate.
A slightly more premium version of the two, the Victola Hi-Res Carbon (VPT-2500-BSL) has a similar design to previous Sonos cards, including a specially designed removable headstock with a carbon fiber arm and adjustable counterweight. .
The turntable uses a red Ortofon 2M cartridge and is belt driven, capable of operating at 45 and 33.3 rpm.
In addition to Bluetooth connectivity, you also get replaceable speakers with RCA outputs for connecting to a regular audio system. Phono audio output is also available on the rear.
The top weighs 6.15kg and is made from MDF with an aluminum backing base.
The Victrola Hi-Res Onyx has a similar design, but is black including the dial.
Another major difference between the two models is that the Onyx features an aluminum crank instead of carbon fiber. The Audio Technica AT-VM95E prefers cartridges, but is belt-driven and capable of smooth rotational speeds.
There are also switchable amplifiers with RCA outputs. Picture sound is supported.
Of course, it is also capable of playback with Qualcomm aptX adaptive support. Both have classic styling and are now available in the US.
“We are excited to introduce our new high-resolution carbon and onyx turntable with ApTX Adaptive Bluetooth technology, which delivers unmatched sound quality for wired and wireless listening,” said Scott Hagen, CEO of Victola.
“With so many high-end audio brands producing amazing wireless headphones and speakers, we thought it was time to introduce a turntable that could rival these products.”
The Victola Hi-Res Carbon costs $599 and is available at Best Buy, while the Victola Hi-Res Onyx retails for $399.
