Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Tipped To Get 48Megapixel Zoom Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be released as a successor to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra that was unveiled in February this year. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to ship with the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ base models. Although the lineup is unlikely to launch until 2024, rumors and speculation about the phones have been circulating for weeks. The latest leaks indicate the main camera specifications of the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
A post on The Leak's now-deleted profile adds that the South Korean tech giant was originally planning to include a 50-megapixel sensor with 10x zoom, but scrapped the original plans over concerns about image output quality.
Previous reports indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will likely feature a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP2SX sensor. This is expected to be an improved version of the ISOCELL HP2 sensor used in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The claimed sensor has 200 million pixels in 1/1.3 optical format and measures 0.6 micropixels (μm).
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to come with Android 14-based One UI 6 and a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED LTPO display, and it is also expected to feature a titanium frame instead of an aluminum body like the previous model. This phone is also said to have a 5,000 mAh battery. The model is expected to be powered by an in-house Exynos 2400 SoC or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, neither of which has been announced yet.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Edge display, is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and has a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. The phone has a 200-megapixel main wide-angle sensor, a 12-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, two 10-megapixel sensors with a telephoto lens on the back and a 12-megapixel sensor on the front.
