Pitch Deck Teardown: CleanHubs $7M Seed Deck
Plastic is bad in the ocean . Plastic is not good in the sea. That, in a nutshell, is the CleanHub approach. The company then developed a complete business model and tracking model to help brands ensure their plastics don't end up in the ocean. Unfortunately, who these brands are and what happens in place of the plastic is a mystery.
We are looking for more unique pitches to release. So if you want to submit your proposal, here's how.

CleanHub used a solid set of 12 slides to get their point across. The only writing is details about the game from previous versions of co-founder and CEO Lewis. The game is missing some information that I would normally like to see, but before we get to that, let's take a look at the content.
- cover film
- group slide
- Visual slider
- Push the issue
- Value Proposition Slide 1
- solution slide
- market view slide
- product slide
- Technology Overview 1
- Technology overview 2
- Value Proposition Slide 2
- shrinking market size
Three things to love
CleanHub creates a circular economy marketplace for plastics. It is a bold and challenging field. markets are very difficult to create and plastic waste is difficult to sell. However, there are some great slides that make us want to otherwise.
Beautiful view
CleanHub is based on a bold idea and will require some pretty big changes in the market. This slide describing the flow of money, data and content is an interesting introduction to this story structure. The point is to evaluate those three things. Money has value (hey, that's why we're here reading this article), but it's the more subtle value of verifiable data and the stories that can be told with that data that set them apart.waste prices
The biggest innovation that CleanHub brings to the space is the introduction of plastic credits, which if I'm reading this slide correctly, make trash tradable in a way that wasn't possible before.I don't quite understand how it's going to work (more on that below), but at first glance it's a story I've never heard before, and it piques my curiosity.
Group by group!
Founder/market fit is the be-all and end-all of early-stage startups, and this company shows they have a lot going for them; all three founders have extensive experience and almost no overlap. Louise has startup experience, Joel domain experience and Florin technical experience. On paper (or better yet, on a slide board) they look like a well trained and experienced team.CleanHub has two CEOs, which surprises me. The CEO role is usually well defined, and in this case two are not always better than one. Here I would lead the group and focus on conflict resolution skills. Answering the question of why there are two CEOs can raise a few red flags about team cohesion and maintaining power.
Continuing this teardown, we'll look at three things that CleanHub could have done a whole shade better or differently.
