Lenovo Reportedly Working On Its Own Steam Deck Rival

It looks like Lenovo is preparing its own Steam Deck competitor from Valve.

Reports (opens in a new window) that the company is quietly working on a gaming PC called the Lenovo Go, Windows Central cited unnamed sources.

The product promises to be compatible with Steam Deck and Asus ROG Ally, making it easy to play anywhere. But instead of a 7-inch display, the Lenovo Go will have an 8-inch display. The product comes with Windows 11, which makes it easy to run all kinds of games and programs.

However, the Lenovo Go does not use AMD's recently announced Ryzen Z1 processors, which are designed specifically for portable gaming and are already used in the Asus ROG Ally. Instead, Lenovo PDAs use AMD Phoenix processors, which are designed for laptops and support AI workloads.

If this product is genuine, it may force users to choose another gaming handheld. But the Lenovo Go software could also be. Windows Central said it's not clear when the product will launch or if it will arrive.

Lenovo did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But the company is already seen preparing a Lenovo calculator in 2021. The product is called Lenovo Legion Play and is designed to run on Android. However, it can play Windows-based games as a platform for cloud streaming services such as Nvidia's GeForce Now.

For some reason, Lenovo decided to delay the release of the product. But now the company might be ready to update the project this time with more powerful features.
