Sold Out: Some Steam Deck Preorders Wont Ship Until September 2022
Last week, Valve announced the Steam Deck laptop and said "pre-orders" would start on Friday. Valve didn't give an exact date for the steam's emergence. He announced that the console will be available for pre-order in December. The Steam Deck "Pre-Order" includes a pre-order price of $5 used to purchase some models. It seems a fair number of buyers have already pre-ordered the Switch OLED option. The Steam Deck quickly sold out and the release dates were pushed back to Summer 2022.

Valve tried to prevent speculators from hoarding the first Steam decks and issued a special regulation for pre-orders. Only Steam account holders who made at least one purchase before June 2021 can pre-order Steam platforms. In the 48 hours since last Friday, people with new Steam accounts have not been able to place any orders.
However, Valve's servers got stuck under load. Registrations for the Steam platform were opened in North America and Europe, and many people were unable to pre-order the console.
Mysterious release date
At the time of the announcement, Valve did not provide any information on the Steam Deck's release date. It's not yet clear how many devices will be available in December and whether the current chip shortage is impacting their ability to keep up with demand.
Valve is selling three Steam Deck versions starting at $399, which are slightly more expensive than the new OLED Switch and come with 64GB of storage. The 256GB and 512GB models feature NVMe storage and retail for $529 and $649, respectively.
Additionally, the company hasn't released any pre-order statements as the shipping date begins to shift. But a bug in the website's code allowed people to find the actual pre-order dates.
In the first 90 minutes, Valve sold 110,000 Steam Deck units with NVMe storage. According to the information online, most of the sales came from North America before Valve fixed the problem.
Steam is sold out until September 2022.
After about half an hour of rejection, I was able to pre-order the 256GB version in Europe. The release date has been pushed back to the first quarter of 2021. If everyone keeps shopping, the release date for the Steam platform will be between January and March 2021.
The estimates for North America are even worse, where the 512GB model is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2022. If you preorder Steam's most expensive set right now, you'll have to wait almost a year to get one. The cheapest models will go on sale between April and June 2022. All three models are scheduled for delivery to Europe in the first quarter of 2022.
Another rule from Valve states that you must purchase the Steam Deck Unit that you are subscribed to. You can't change your mind while waiting for Valve to process your request.
However, speculators are already pre-ordering Steam skins online for a huge boost. However, it will still be a few months before the console release.
With the console now sold out, it's unclear if Valve will have additional stock for sale on release day. But delivery times may improve as buyers take their place in the queue. Valve will refund the $5 to your bank account (within 30 days) or to your Steam account.
