Amazon Prime Day 2023: The Best Deals As They Go Live
Amazon Prime Day 2023: the best one-time deals available | cycling news Skip to main content

First up, three deals for UK buyers:

Garmin Fenix 7 Solar: £689.99 £479.99 at Amazon

The Fenix 7 Solar benefits from solar charging that can extend battery life up to four days. If you are planning longer trips or cycling adventures, this could be a great feature for you. In addition, the watch is packed with technical features. Our tools tell us it's never been cheaper and we check the internet again and the lowest we can find anywhere is £560 at Goldsmiths.

Save 43%:
Versa gives you voice commands, plus GPS and optical heart rate. It works with the Fitbit app to track exercise, sleep and recovery and includes a 6-month premium Fitbit membership.

What time is it?

Wrong. Time to watch a few hours…

Should I buy a smart bike (like the Wahoo Kickr or Wattbike Atom) or an exercise bike like the Peloton or Echelon? This is a question I get asked a lot and my answer is usually, "It depends."

It mostly depends on how keen you are and what kind of riding you want to do. I spent a few months with the Peloton Bike+ last year and found that while the hardware was lacking (compared to the best smart bikes), the software was really good.

I usually find motivation in training, achieving performance goals, following workouts, etc. Others are motivated more by social factors, such as other people doing the same exercise at the same time. If that describes you, then spin class-style exercise bikes like the Peloton and Echelon probably appeal to you.

There's plenty on sale this Prime Day, including the Peloton Bike and Bike+, as well as discounted Echelon bikes.

But before you commit, make sure you only join one platform and pay a monthly fee to keep using it. You cannot connect your Peloton bike to any other app, you must use it with the Peloton app.

Peloton Bike +: $2,495.00 $2,145.00 on Amazon
Save $350:
The Peloton Bike+ adds extra features to the standard Peloton bike with automatic resistance adjustment, a larger non-reflective touchscreen, better sound quality, more storage, and an Apple Gym integration kit. the same space as a standard Peloton bike and weighs only 5 pounds more.

You can read our full Peloton Bike+ review to see how we got on. We also have a guide to all things Peloton to help you choose. Amazon is the only place you can find the Peloton Bike+ without buying directly from Peloton.

Echelon EX15 Smart Bike: $1,499.99 $799.99 at Amazon
Save 47%:
As an alternative to Peloton, Echelon Smart Bike offers a similar experience, but with lower recurring costs. Like Peloton, there's live, on-demand access to workouts with a free 30-day premium membership. It has a 22-inch foldable screen and two power ports to charge your electronics.

In our opinion, this is one of the best stationary bikes for spinning.

The original Peloton bike: $1,445.00 $1,145.00 on Amazon
Save $300:
An original Peloton bike entitles you to all of the brand's live and on-demand classes. Unlike the Peloton Bike+, where you have to manually change the resistance, it also has a smaller screen and less impressive sound, but the price on Amazon is much lower than the Plus.

Read our ultimate guide to Peloton to help you choose between the original and the Pelton Bike+ for your workout. Amazon is the only place you can find a Peloton bike without buying directly from Peloton.

My bike's resistance: $1,299.00 $1,104.15 on Amazon
Save $194.85:
Stamina muuv uses an app on your phone to tailor your routine to your needs and provide personalized feedback during your workout, making it less intimidating than attending a live class. There are also no ongoing subscription fees and user weight is limited to 300 pounds.

Echelon EX3 Smart Connected Fitness Bike: $799.99 $399.99 at Amazon
Save $400 -
The EX3 Exercise Bike is a great way to make exercise fun, easy and affordable. The bike is always ready to ride, no need to unbox or set up the bike before you start riding. Plus, with the 30-day Ecehlon Premier membership trial, you can watch live workouts for added motivation and fun by attaching your smartphone.

Echelon EX-5s Smart Connect Exercise Bike: £1649.00 £1,299.00 at Amazon
If you're looking for a smart bike that offers instructor-led indoor cycling classes, you've probably heard of Echelon, the closest competitor to market leader Peloton. It is one of the best sports bikes from the brand and has a 21.5-inch touchscreen on the front.

58% off Blink 3 Outdoor Cameras: £214.99 £89.99
56% off 2x Blink Outdoor Cameras: £154.99 £67.99
56% off 1x Blink Outdoor Camera: £89.99 £39.99

It's a deal I'm personally considering buying. I already have a few Blink indoor cameras (mainly for tracking dogs when I'm out), but with this sale I'm tempted to expand my collection and add a small security camera to my home.

Of course, this isn't a cycling-specific proposition, but since most cyclists have one or more expensive bikes sitting around their homes, garages or sheds, a little more security isn't a bad thing.

Hello again. Unlike Will, I didn't run in the rain during my few free hours. I ate lunch, walked the dogs and then laid on the couch and watched the end of today's tour. enjoy yourself!

If you missed it and don't want spoilers, you're treading on very dangerous ground participating here on Cyclingnews, but you're safe with me. I will not share

However, you can go here to view the results or click on the big orange and white Cyclingnews logo at the top of this page, where our home page shares everything you need to know about today's race.

Will Jones says goodbye and hands the reins back to Josh. To rid my body of all the deal talk, I'm going to run in the pouring rain as The Shawshank Redemption ends. see you tomorrow x

Stan's Tubeless Sealant 38% off!

Now tubeless is the norm for riding gravel and being on the road that way, and while most butyl tubes are equivalent, the same can't be said for tubeless glue. Stan is one of the best. So if you don't already have a camera or are thinking of taking the plunge, it's not a bad idea to get under 40% off small or large bottles.

Cateye Bar End Lights 18% Off!

This tip was recommended by my colleague Tom who used it on his bike. Basically, you replace the ends of the stick with two red LED lights. They are definitely an auxiliary option and should not be used as the main light source.

While not the brightest on the market, they do have the effect of making your bike look wider from the rear, which is always a good thing, and it's easy to forget they're there during the day.

Muc-Off Ultimate Cleaning Kit 23% Off!

Nothing reminds me of the early 2000s like the opening bars of Christina Aguilera's "Dirty" (featuring Redman, of course), and nothing makes me think she doesn't respect herself as a biker; solve the problem.

A dirty transmission costs you money. It wears out faster, is noisy and stops working. If you need an all-in-one solution then Muc-Off has the ultimate cleaning kit in a box with everything you need to keep everything sparkling clean and now less than 1/4 off!

Dear Colleague Tom , I spent some time updating our Amazon Prime Day bike deals page throughout the day. Scroll to see everything new and on sale!

Discount on energy gel!

I'm sure that when the Archies released their hit song "Sugar, Sugar" in the 60s (no, I don't know when), they were really thinking about carb gel sports nutrition.

If you're a fan of gum or just don't want to go on a group hike, it might be a good idea to pack a pack of gels.

The amount of carbohydrates can vary according to taste, but the most important thing is not to eat the whole variety pack at once. You can be extremely fast for a short period of time, but the time you get from acceleration will be more than the time you spend in the bathroom at the coffee station.

SIS Variety Pack only £6.44 – Seven different flavors so you can find what suits you best with 22g of carbs per tube.

Torq Gels Multipack up to 33% off : Slightly tastier than the SIS options, with a bigger discount but a higher overall price.

Podium Camelback Chill Bottles less than a tenner!

Days like Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber'nday are usually when people think about spending crazy money on something BIG. However, sometimes it's the little things that make your life better than a 96-inch TV.

If you think premium water bottles don't make your life better, chances are you've never tried the Camelbak Podium Chill...33% off means you can get a water bottle to keep you hydrated fresh in the summer heat. Keep cool under 10 lbs. This is the most important area to do yourself a favor .

I can't say anything funny about them, they are just great bottles at a good price.

Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7 Pack Now Half Price!

Kryptonite is one of the big names in bike locks. Popular with bike messengers and anyone who really doesn't want their bike stolen. There are two brands in the garage: a cable and combination U-lock and a giant chain lock for when I need extra security.

The Mini 7 pack comes with a small D-lock, a frame holder for easy portability and a cable to transfer the wheels. The D-Lock's small size may mean you can't throw it around things like utility poles, but that makes it less vulnerable to leverage attacks.

Overall, it's a good package at full price, but with 51% off the ticket, it's a great deal if you want good safety on the road. I've included the right music to record, but you can only listen to it if you've purchased it.

Our tech editor, Josh, went through a very long deal. Luckily, I'm here to take the reins and bring you the BEST HOLIDAYS as they come.

Sales posts can be a bit dry so I try to keep the flavor light and airy so you can still enjoy what's going on and save at the same time by showing you some really good savings for the things you want to buy. money Uncle Jeff can lend money.

chains!

Now for some brief introductions, here we go:

The Shokz bone conduction headphones are also on a good deal at the moment, so much so that my esteemed colleague Will will gladly take them if he doesn't have a pair.

US: 30% off all Shokz headphones on Amazon

UK - 30% off all Shokz headphones at Amazon

As Will himself says: "The sound quality isn't as terrible as the in-ear options, but if your concern is safety, as you probably should be on a road bike, then this is it." .”

This isn't the only deal with AirPods right now, but there are a few more.

Apple AirPods (3rd Gen) with Lightning Charging Case: Up to 22% off.

USA: 169 dollars $139.99 at Amazon

UNITED KINGDOM: £179 £139 on Amazon

If you choose the third-generation AirPods, you'll get the same water and sweat resistance as the second-generation Pro model, but without active noise cancellation. There's also six hours of listening time per charge, which can be extended up to 30 hours with a Lightning charging case.

Apple AirPods (2nd Gen) with Wired Charging Case – Up to 30% off.

USA: 129 dollars $89.99 at Amazon

UNITED KINGDOM: £139 £99 on Amazon

Second-generation AirPods offer up to five hours of listening time on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the Lightning charging case, with a 15-minute charge lasting around three hours.

As with all Apple AirPods, there's tight integration with other Apple devices, including the iPhone and Apple Watch, though the lack of water resistance may make intense turbo sessions difficult.

Based on the quality of the deal, the popularity of the product, and my experience with previous Prime Days, I expect the next deal to be one of the most popular of all products this Prime Day.

It comes from Apple and is the second generation of AirPods headphones.

Ok, sorry, back to serious business...lots of great deals to discuss. must move

Here's the deal...even though the discount isn't huge, the product is, so I have to share.

Topeak TT2524 Ratchet Tool: £33.99 £26.38 at Amazon
22% OFF:
This Topeak multi-tool is a small ratchet and bit set. It's 10-15cm long and comes with everything from a 2mm to 8mm hex driver, plus a Phillips screwdriver and T10, T15 and T25 Torx bits. It also has belt sleeves and comes in a hard case. Bits can be inserted directly into the ratchet head or base for hard-to-reach screws. The click of the pin is really sharp, grips the edges very firmly and is strong enough to press the pedals too. I have had it with me on every trip for almost 2 years and it is like new.

Stop the press! Want a confirmed Mathieu van der Poel and Marcel Kittel deal? you are here. If you're like Mathieu and "always want more" (opens in new tab), then you can get not one, but two XXL bottles of Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo at 15% off .

The shampoo is still over £14... I'll probably stick to my £2.50 Head & Shoulders shampoo.

Anyway...let's get started!

This is going to be long, so I'll start with some of the things we've already found.

Since most of the US is already asleep, I'll focus on the UK first.

bike computer

Article Wahoo Roam v1: £199.99 £162.54 at Amazon
19% off –
It's not the biggest discount you'll ever see, but it's a good product for a reasonable price. Between £180 and £230, it's the best deal on Roam right now. It is currently the cheapest Wahoo computer on the market. So if you want to join the club, this is a cheap ticket.

The Wahoo Elemnt Roam earned 4.5 stars in our review thanks to its impressive battery, maps, and fairly simple but feature-rich interface.

Wahoo Element Bolt v2: £329.99 £197.79 at Amazon
Save 40% -
The latest version is just as reasonably priced as the Bolt v2, and given Wahoo's regular product rotation, it's unlikely to be replaced anytime soon.

Of course, if it ends up getting replaced, that's not a problem because Wahoo has stood behind their technology for a long time.

More impressively, even with additional heart rate, speed and cadence sensors, it's more affordable than standalone devices. If you don't need sensors and want to be smart, you can buy and sell used sensors and save even more money.

Read more about it in my Wahoo Elemnt Bolt review.

Garmin Edge 530: £259.99 £179.99 at Amazon
31% SAVE:
If you prefer to stay with Garmin instead of Wahoo. This is another good option if you want to install a Garmin fence. It's a little more expensive than the previous Roam, but offers a slightly clearer screen (in my opinion), as well as better integration for those with Garmin watches.

If you want more information, I also wrote a review of the Garmin Edge 530 in 2019.

Garmin Edge Scan: £219.99 £149.99 at Amazon
Save 32%:
The Garmin Edge Explore is a rugged entry-level GSP smartphone with preloaded maps, turn-by-turn navigation, and an easy-to-use touchscreen. £149.99 £50 off your nearest Decathlon store.

Garmin Edge 130 Plus: £169.99 £119.99 at Amazon
29% OFF: If you're not looking for the latest features, the Edge 130 offers many of Garmin's more expensive computers, but at a great price. Don't let the picture fool you, as it's quite similar in size to the Edge 530. It's smaller, which some may not like, but its monochrome display is easy to read and accessible via four buttons on the front. Edge 530. served sides of box.

Before I begin, a quick introduction and my reasons for doing this. I'm Josh Croxton, technical editor at Cyclingnews. You will spend most of this meeting directly with me, I apologize.

I have been part of the team since 2019. I joined during the Tour de France and was in the Pyrenees within a week of watching Julian Alaphilippe win the Pau time trial.

Since then, I've spearheaded our Black Friday content every year, as well as contributing to our buying guides, reviews, tech updates, features...a little bit of everything. These days I handle all the technical content, with help from Will Jones (who will probably contribute memes to this live report later), Tom Wieckowski, Josh Ross, and others.

I chose to live stream this event for one main reason: to help people buy the right product for them. I know the rising cost of living affects everyone and I would never recommend buying bike tech until the higher rates are paid, but I also don't like the idea of people being forced to stop cycling for the sake of affordability. . Prices are rising rapidly in cycling, as they are everywhere, but used wisely, discounts and offers can help more people enjoy life on two wheels.

I know I'm not saying anything new here, we all know that shopping on clearance saves money. By combining my team's knowledge of cycling technology with a little focus on bargain hunting and the various tools we have as part of such a large publisher, I hope we can recommend products that are good deals. . that we will buy it ourselves.

I will never tell you to buy anything, the decision is yours alone. However, if you're looking for something new, hopefully we can find something that works for you and can help.
