IPhone Camera Gets Destroyed By Samsung In Viral Instagram Post
It's an uphill battle for camera phones that the iPhone Pro and Samsung Galaxy S Ultra face. Each brand's flagship camera phones excel in different areas, but an exciting head-to-head comparison in a specific situation has caused a stir on social media.
Tom "The Tech Chap" puts the Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max to the test during a group photo shoot at the Glastonbury Festival (formerly the Music Festival). He took photos of Elton John onstage, away from the crowd, and the difference in results was pretty striking (check out our guide to the best camera phones to get yours).
For the Glastonbury Zoom Challenge, Tom Huninds said he took a 30-second photo of Elton at sunset during his most recent appearance in the UK. It uses the 30x zoom of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the 15x zoom of the iPhone 14 Pro Max at 30x. No changes or filters applied.
On the surface, Samsung's 30x zoom creates a sharp photo with clearly recognizable singers and scenes, while the iPhone image is almost blurry with abstract colors. Has Samsung broken the hearts of iPhone owners? Well, perhaps surprisingly, when Haniands asked two Instagram followers which photo they liked, some insisted that the iPhone photo was better because it was "more realistic" or "artistic" ("I like a watercolor photo," someone quipped. ).
Honeyands himself says that he always carries the iPhone and the Samsung S23 Ultra with him "because both have their advantages and neither is perfect." In his opinion, this photo shows that the S23 Ultra is unbeatable, especially when it comes to long-range zoom (check out our Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra review for more on the device, or see our current best prices below).
