Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro Review: Great Buds That Cost Too Much

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro Review: Great Buds That Cost Too Much

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro headphones have a nice design and comfortable fit, but the high price is hard to beat because of the competition.

professional

  • Strong design
  • Comfortable fit
  • Good feature set
  • Easy to manage

bad

  • Large extensions can be used
  • Expensive

High quality headphones are everywhere. Xiaomi has launched its first headphones and the company is in its fourth generation. The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro are designed to provide great listening experience and a comfortable fit, which is why they are available at a fairly high price.

At €240 or €240, there's a lot of competition, which means the earphones should outperform the new Nothing Ear (2), variants from Samsung and Sony, and, yes, the AirPods Pro.

How well do they compete? I am using Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro to find out.

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro design

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro is generally well designed and very portable. They feature a root design similar to AirPods and interchangeable tips for a more secure fit.

I really like the overall look. I'm looking at a chrome model, but the eyes are also available in black and gold, as well as other colors that vary by region.

The headphones have AirPods-like controls, and it's good to see more companies copying Apple here. These controls let you control playback, but unfortunately you can't adjust the volume; you need to approach the device.

The charging case looks great too. It's highly portable, looks great, and is smaller than the already portable AirPods Pro. There is a USB-C port on the bottom of the charging case that opens up at the front to reveal eyes that attach magnetically to the case. The charging case also supports Qi wireless charging – a must, especially at this price point.

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro specifications and battery

The real promise of premium headphones lies in the features they offer, and thankfully, these headphones aren't feature-rich. The earbuds work with the Xiaomi Earbuds app, which opens up a number of features offered here.

Let's start with the fact that Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro supports noise reduction, which is pretty good. There are six incredible levels of noise reduction so you can choose the level of noise reduction that really suits you. For example, there are several transparency modes with different levels that work decently, although not as impressive as the AirPods.

From the app, you can change controls, adjust battery life, and more. you can see Unfortunately, one key feature is missing - you can't change the equalizer. This is an important feature that some companies, including Apple, have missed, and I would like it to become more widespread. This is one of my favorite things about Nothing Ear (2).

Convenience Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro provide a very comfortable fit. The earbuds are designed to fit snugly in most ears without being too bulky or intrusive, and they stay fairly secure in your ears even with moderate movement.

While the company clearly takes a cue from Apple's design, I'm glad it offers a more comfortable and secure listening experience.

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro sound

Luckily, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro earphones provide good sound quality, and while I don't miss the lack of an equalizer, most of them will be completely satisfied with what's on offer here.

First, the bass is quite strong. In general, low frequencies were able to provide powerful pickups and smooth bass. In fact, low frequency response is one of the key points of sound quality.

The mids were tuned pretty well, but there was a bit of high mids that I didn't like. There was nothing wrong with that, and most people didn't notice it.

Alt is a little quieter. There is some detail and clarity, but I would like more spread in the upper range and a little more clarity in general.

Overall, the Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro offer a decent frequency response, and while the high-end response could be a little better, it's likely to be overlooked by most.

Result

Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro headphones are a good choice. They look great, fit comfortably and generally offer good sound quality, but they are a little pricey and face stiff competition.

competition

The biggest competition right now is the Nothing Ear headphones, which are cheaper and actually better (2). The Nothing Ear (2) headphones are one of the best options and are only $150. Apple users should also consider the Apple AirPods Pro due to its excellent auto-switching technology and seamless integration with Apple devices.

Should you buy Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro?

Nope. Instead, you should buy Nothing Ear (2) or AirPods Pro.
