In this article, we will compare two very interesting foldable smartphones, the OPPO Find N2 and the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. Both are the second versions of the OEM's foldable smartphones. Both offer more and in some ways better than what Samsung can offer. We recently reviewed the OPPO Find N2 and this phone is superior to its predecessor in almost every way.

However, these two phones are similar in some ways but completely different. For example, they serve different types of users due to size differences. Unfortunately, none of them are sold outside of China yet, but you can import them. First we list their characteristics and then we compare them in different categories.

OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Design

Both phones are made of metal and glass, although the Find N2 also has a vegan leather option. The OPPO Find N2 is very small and when folded it is suitable for one-handed use. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is huge, but even when it's unfolded, it's incredibly thin. The two phones feel completely different in the hand, and you should know what you're getting into before you pick one up.

The OPPO Find N2 MIX is shorter and thicker than the Fold 2. The thickness is especially noticeable when both phones are folded. Both the phones offer a gapless design and a very good grip. We will talk more about curves in the next chapter. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 weighs 30 grams more than the Find N2 (depending on the model) and you will definitely feel it in your hand. Both phones are very smooth, although the Find N2 is easier to use with one hand, especially in the Vegan Leather model.

Both phones have an in-display camera hole on the outer display, and the Find N2 also has a hole on the main edge, although in a different place. The main display of the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 does not have a hole, in fact it does not even have a camera. They are also very different from the back. Their cell islands have completely different shapes and are located in different places. However, both phones feel very good in the hand. Note that neither phone has an IP rating for water and dust resistance.

OPPO Find N2 has a 7.1-inch LTPO AMOLED foldable screen with a resolution of 1792 x 1920 pixels. This panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+ content. At the highest point, it reaches 1550 nits brightness. The Surface display, on the other hand, measures 5.54 inches and offers a resolution of 2120 x 1080. Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 uses the main screen of 8.02 inches and 1914 x 2160 resolution. LTPO2 OLED screen can display 1 billion colors. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content. It reaches a maximum brightness of 1300 nits and is protected by Schott UTG glass. The second panel measures 6.56 inches and is a FullHD+ (2520 x 1080) display. It's also an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ content and Dolby Vision support. It gets a brightness of 1300 nits and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The four screens on these two phones are impressive to say the least. All offer a 120Hz refresh rate and excellent viewing angles. Colors are bright and blacks are deep. The main screen of the OPPO Find N2+ has a slight advantage in terms of brightness, while all screens offer excellent touch response. There's not much to complain about here, and to be honest, you'll be happy with both phones when it comes to screens. All that said, both phones are better than the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Performance

Both these phones have the same SoC. Both phones are powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which is a good thing. It's still one of the best mobile SoCs on the market with excellent performance, temperature and power consumption. OPPO Find N2 combines 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM with UFS 3.1 flash storage. Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage.

Both these phones are absolute beasts when it comes to performance. They fly through anything you throw at them, including games. They are ideal for multitasking, media consumption, browsing, image and video editing, and more. You can run even the most resource-intensive games on both phones, and while they're at their best, we didn't notice any slowdowns. Therefore performance. Moreover, both phones are expected to perform similarly for a long time. Neither phone is officially sold in international markets, so you'll have to go through the Google Play Store to use them.

OPPO Find N2 vs Xiaomi MIX Fold 2: Battery

The OPPO Find N2 is powered by a 4520 mAh battery, while the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 packs a 4500 mAh battery. It seems strange because the Find N2 is very small and the same for the screens, but it has a big battery. Well, OPPO has played smart because the Find N2 offers excellent battery life unlike the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. So if battery life is important to you, the Find N2 is for you.

OPPO Find N2 has no problem with more than 7 hours of screen-on time, and even in some cases I got more than 8 hours. Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 screen time is about 6 hours, to be honest, 6 hours can be used well. If you gamble, you can expect worse results. Your mileage may vary because you use different apps, have different usage habits, and have different signal strengths.

Both devices offer relatively fast charging. Both phones get 67W wired charging. Both phones should charge 100% in 40 minutes. Yes, chargers are included in both cases. Note that the Find N2 supports 10W reverse wireless charging. Wireless charging is not supported on both phones.

Both the phones are well equipped when it comes to the camera. OPPO Find X5 Pro has a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide camera and a 32MP telephoto lens. It also includes Hasselblad's expertise as part of the package, specifically for the Color Science section. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto lens. Leica lenses included.

To be honest, both of these phones are very good in terms of camera. Both phones tend to fill out photos a bit, but not by much. Just to blow it up a bit. Both provide very clear images, especially during the day. They work well in HDR conditions and even at night. The OPPO Find N2 gets even better when it comes to ultra-wide and telephoto lenses. Video recording is good on both phones.

Neither of these two phones is the best camera phone on the market, but both are pretty good. Many people will not find any complaints here, especially considering that we are talking about flexible smartphones.

Audio

If you're looking for a phone with great speakers, these two will do the trick. Both phones have stereo speakers. The OPPO Find N2 comes with Dolby support and the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 speakers are tuned by Harman Kardon. Both sets of speakers have clear, accurate sound, some bass and better than other speakers.

But unfortunately, none of the phones support voice communication. So you will have to use the Type-C port or Bluetooth connection that both phones have. Speaking of which, the Find N2 supports Bluetooth 5.3, while the Mixfold 2 supports Bluetooth 5.2.
