Vivo Ignite, Science & Innovation Awards: Taking Young India Forward

The Vivo Ignite, Science and Innovation Awards are open to all Indian students in grades 8-12 and will take place in three phases from September 2022 to February 2023. Registration opens on September 27 (first episode of the first season) and ends on December 12. Click here to register.

After registering, you can participate in the first phase which is called the submission phase. Here, all registered participants must submit a 150-250 word summary of their project idea in poster form by midnight on December 12, 2022. They must also choose whether their final submission will be a thesis (an essay that expands his scientific work). ideas) or prototype (business model). with a fully developed abstract). The result will be announced on December 20, 2022. Anyone who submits ideas will receive an online certificate of participation. The best 200 students, that is, 50 students from each region (North, South, East and West) will qualify for the second stage.

The 200 shortlisted contestants will develop their ideas with the support of a short prototype/concept video. People who choose an idea video should describe their motivation behind the idea and describe in detail what they expect from the idea. Participants who choose to create a prototype must do all of the above and explain how the different parts of the business model will work together to solve social problems. This round will run from December 21, 2022 to January 19, 2023. The result will be announced on January 27, 2023. The 200 participants selected in the second round will receive trophies, certificates and some gifts. From now on, the first 25 participants will qualify for the grand final.

At the grand finale on February 10, 2023, the top 25 students will compete in a physical event where they will be asked to present their projects in person. They do so in front of a panel of distinguished judges. They are judged on creative thinking, innovation, use of science and technology, and positive social impact. The top 15 entrants will be selected to compete for the grand prize. 10 national winners who present the most scientifically innovative and socially relevant projects will be announced. All finalists will receive a medal and a certificate.

The first place in the prototype and concept categories will receive cash prizes of INR 5 lakh and INR 4 lakh in addition to prizes.
