Beloved KC Icon Tech N9ne To Flip Switch For Plaza Lighting Ceremony On Thanksgiving
Kansas City, Mo. - The Country Club Plaza will turn "Royal Red" on Thanksgiving night for the 94th annual Evergy Plaza Lighting Ceremony.
Tech N9ne — Kansas City-born rapper and co-founder of independent music label Strange Music — will have the honor of "pressing the button" to turn on the plaza's iconic Christmas lights.

Tech N9ne, whose latest album Bliss was released last summer before touring with Hollywood Undead, also performed at the Kansas City Chiefs' parade to celebrate their Super Bowl LVII victory.
The lights of the square will be on until January 14, 2023.
Pre-ceremony speeches begin at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Plaza Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 p.m., and ending with the push of a button to turn on the lights at 7:05 p.m.
Veterans will perform after the event on KMBC starting at 6:00 p.m.
