Last year's technology countdown continues. By 2023, layoffs will cost tens of thousands of tech workers their jobs. This time the layoffs came from some of the biggest names in tech, including Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Yahoo, and Zoom. Startups also announced layoffs on everything from crypto to enterprise SaaS.

The reasons for the layoffs follow a common scenario citing the macroeconomic environment and the need to find discipline on the tumultuous road to profitability.
