Vivo V27 Pro Brings The Fight To OnePlus 11R With A Better Design
The smartphone market in India is particularly competitive. Rarely have we seen a phone that pays so much attention to design to keep up with the competition. But Vivo V27 Pro is one such smartphone.
It has a stylish design and is a very comfortable phone in the price range, at least for me. It has a subtle and light back color shift and has the same 50MP + 8MP + 2MP rear camera setup as the OnePlus 11R. Compared to other phones, this is a narrow device, so using it with one hand was not a problem. The chipsets are different, but in my experience with both phones, the performance in everyday use is the same.
The Vivo V27 Pro has a slightly larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display compared to the OnePlus 11R's 6.74-inch display. It offers FHD+ (1080 x 2400) resolution at 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification with Widevine L1. All of these combine to deliver smooth, sharp and crisp images. I had no problem viewing the screen in the sun. At the bottom you will find a speaker, which is not very good. In contrast, the OnePlus 11R offers a more powerful stereo speaker setup for a better media experience.
Vivo's mid-range smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset paired with 8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. With daily use, everything was fine, there were no problems. Launch applications and run games like Asphalt 9 without any problems. But the phone may get warm when playing for a long time. The Vivo V27 Pro uses a 4600mAh battery with 66W fast charging that can charge from 10% to 100% in an hour. It lasts all day with moderate use, but on heavy days, fast charging helps charge the battery faster.
The Vivo V27 Pro has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. It comes with a unique Indian filter designed for Indian weddings with their color palette in mind.
The main camera can take great photos in bright light. It also retains a lot of shadow detail. Portrait mode is generally good for detecting edges, and night shooting is also above average. On the other hand, the 8MP ultra-wide camera is average at best, and the 2MP macro sensor is terrible.
Vivo is working on removing some malware from the FunTouch 13 operating system based on Android 13. Android Material uses the U theme engine, which allows you to match the system's UI color palette with the screen background. I haven't found a use for the iManager app, which is for monitoring the usage of the heating control app. The operating system allows you to hide selected photos and videos from the gallery. Overall, FunTouch OS has improved over time and is smoother than ever.
Vivo V27 Pro competes with OnePlus 11R in the Rs 40,000 price segment in India. In my experience, it offers the best design and best camera setup for average performance and battery life. OnePlus 11R wins with a starting price of Rs 37,999. If you want a thin and light phone that doesn't weigh down your wrist, the Vivo V27 Pro is a great choice.
