Chiefs' Travis Kelce To Host Music Festival In Kansas City
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Travis Kelce is living his best life. After winning the Super Bowl and hosting "Saturday Night Live," the Kansas City Chiefs star will end his streak of success with a music festival this month.
The two-time Super Bowl winner announced Tuesday that he will host the first-ever Kelce Jam Festival during an NFL weekend. The gala will take place April 28 at the Azura Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
The event will feature performances from Machine Gun Kelly, Rick Ross, DJ Duo Loud Luxury and Kansas City rap legend Tech N9ne.
"With the project coming to KC, I think it's the perfect time to bring the biggest music festival here yet," said Kelsey, who estimates the festival could draw around 15,000 people. “We will have crazy stage shows, the best food in Kansas City and lots of rides and football games. It's going to be a lot of fun."
Kelsey said he cashed in on his growing popularity after beating the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 57 in February. Last month, he hosted "Saturday Night Live" and co-hosted the Booming podcast with his brother, Jason Kelsey, who plays for the Eagles.
For now, Kelce is enjoying "everything" and feeling euphoric about the upcoming music festival.
"I've walked through every open door since winning the Super Bowl," he said. “It's not going to stop anytime soon, especially with the Kelce Jam. I think that will be the nail in the coffin for the 2022 season."
Kelsey said she wanted to bring some of her favorite artists, including Machine Gun Kelly, who is from Ohio like her. After four-time Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski visited Gronk Beach during the NFL Draft in Las Vegas last year, he was inspired to host his own music festival.
"I saw what Gronk did last year," he said. “I want to throw a big party knowing that Kansas City is hiring. It's a special event in town...Kansas City should be electric with me."
