Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes, New York, has faced backlash over a tweet that critics described as "incitement to violence."
Tennessee's Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted Thursday to expel two Democrats for leading and participating in protests that disrupted the House and pushed for gun reform.
Acasio-Cortes tweeted a video of protesters chanting "F... you fascists" in front of GOP lawmakers after the impeachment vote.

"Republicans may think they've won in Tennessee today, but their fascism is only radicalizing, causing a wave of youth both in the South and across the country," Acasio-Cortes tweeted. “If you thought the youth organization would be strong, wait and see what happens next. Gen Z doesn't play."
Critics applauded a member of the panel for announcing a vote to suspend two "fascist" lawmakers.

Tennessee House Republicans took the unusual step of voting Thursday to expel Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson for "disorderly conduct" after they stormed the Capitol building with anti-gun protesters last week.
Lawmakers disrupted a House hearing and chanted "No justice, no peace" from the floor, calling for gun control measures in response to a shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville that left six people dead, including three young children.
The lawmakers were first released from the commission on Monday for participating in the protest, and then voted to be expelled on Thursday. A third Democrat, Rep. Gloria Johnson was also almost kicked out.
