Oppos Next Foldable Is Actually Getting A Release Outside Of China
Oppo has revealed its new foldable phones in China today, and the smaller of the two has actually launched outside of the domestic market. The Find N2 Flip has a clamshell design similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and starts at ¥6,000 (about $861), while its bigger sibling, the Find N2, has a larger, almost Galaxy-like tablet form factor. Z Fold 4 and starts at ¥8,000 (about $1,148).
XDA Developers reports that the Flip will go on sale worldwide, but the regular Find N2 will be available in China just like its predecessor, the Find N. The Find N2 Flip is expected to hit European markets in the first quarter of the year. upcoming. But given that Oppo hasn't historically sold phones in North America, an official US announcement is unlikely.
Let's start with the Find N2 Flip, as this is a phone that some Verge readers may be buying soon. The biggest advantage of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is the large 3.26-inch external screen with a resolution of 720×382. That's significantly larger than Samsung's 1.9-inch external display, which Oppo's website advertises as available. Everything from weather to notifications, and also acts as a camera viewer.
The internal screen is 6.8 inches with a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Oppo says it's rated for 400,000 uses, meaning if you turn it off and on 100 times a day, it reckons the system could last 10 years. It has an ultra-thin glass cover that should help with durability and has a small cutout for the 32MP selfie camera.
As for the traditional specifications of the smartphone, the MediaTek Dimension 9000 Plus processor has 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of internal memory. It combines a 50-megapixel primary camera with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 4,300mAh battery with up to 44W fast charging, and biometric security provided by a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
While the Find N2 Flip is a new form factor for Oppo, the larger Find N2 appears to be an update on the original Find N model. It still has a 7.1-inch internal display, though this time it's slightly larger on the screen external; At 5.54 inches, Oppo advertises that the bezel is 37 percent smaller and 36 percent lighter, the bezel is 60 percent narrower, and the screen is 34 percent thinner. percent easier. With a total weight of 233 grams, Oppo claims the Find N2 is "the lightest horizontal folding model ever," according to XDA Developers .
Like the N2 Flip, the Find N2 received over 400,000 reviews (up from 200,000 for last year's model). There is a 32MP selfie camera in the top left corner and three main cameras (50MP main, 48MP ultra-wide and 32MP telephoto). It is powered by Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor and its 4520mAh battery can be fast charged up to 67W.
That's an impressive set of features, which makes it all the more unfortunate that the Quest N2 isn't slated for a global release (at least not yet). The honor makes it the only manufacturer looking to compete globally with Samsung's foldable tablet devices when it launches the Magic VS globally next year.
This next-gen foldable phone is insane.
