Young Delegates Encourage Women To Pursue Dreams In New Era

Cui Yiwen and Wang Juixue were born in the 1990s. Both are delegates to the 13th National Chinese Women's Congress. Cui is a police officer assigned to the High-Tech Zone Branch of the Ningbo Public Security Bureau (in east China's Zhejiang Province). Wang is a researcher in the School of Natural Sciences at Westlake University. Both are attending the National Women's Congress for the first time and were roommates during the conference.

Twi is a brave woman. She risked her life to save others. One night in March 2019, Qu and one of his classmates were returning to their dorm room when someone approached them with a knife. Tsui pushed his classmate out of the man's way just before the attacker stabbed Tsui. The attacker then stabbed Cui and his classmate several times. Tsui protected her classmate by covering her friend with her body.

Tu's courage and selflessness were widely reported. She has received numerous awards, including the National Model of Ethics, the National March 8 Red Flag, and the National Hero for her courageous actions to help others in an emergency situation. She was chosen to carry the torch for the 19th Asian Games, held from September 23 to October 8 in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province.

Qu was born into a family of officers. She became a police officer at the beginning of the year and has since been involved in various volunteer activities. As a young police officer, Cui is committed to studying and implementing the guiding principles of the Congress of Women and working enthusiastically to create a positive image of female police officers in the new era.

After Wang received his Ph.D. After graduating from Tsinghua University and finishing her postdoctoral work, she enrolled at Westlake University. She is always up for a challenge and is dedicated to solving complex problems in the life sciences.

She has published more than 10 articles in accredited journals and these articles have made significant contributions to the determination of the atomic structure of the intact spliceosome and to the discovery of the molecular mechanism of pre-mRNA splicing. Wang was awarded the 17th China Science and Technology Youth Prize in 2022.

"Ten years have passed since I started my doctoral studies. With strong support from the country, I hope there will be more young women tirelessly pursuing their ideals in scientific research," Wang said.
