Famous Rappers Name Their Favorite Underrated Rappers

Famous Rappers Name Their Favorite Underrated Rappers

As we celebrate 50 years of hip hop, rightly so... the genre's many heroes are celebrated. What about unsung heroes? What about those rappers who are good enough to be great but don't get the break they deserve, or the timing isn't right, who look the wrong way when Lady Luck smiles?

Instead of voting for who we think is the best underrated rapper , that doesn't mean we won't do some great work, right? We asked hip-hop musicians. We've rounded up a bunch of rappers you 've heard of to support those who haven't yet.

More from the game:

CPD

I don't think any rapper is underrated.

I like to ignore!

Some of the best people to do this are Reggie Reg from The Crash Crew! Lil Rodney C from Funky Four Plus One and Double Trouble. These guys have amazing voices and an unmatched flow!

Sha-Rock by Fun Four Plus One More. His voice and flow are unmatched and are not mentioned when talking about new and innovative rappers!

SHE'S THE FIRST FEMALE RAPPER ON TV!!! Damn legend!

Strong island crazy boy! Joel had his own style and flow long before these mainstream commercial rappers came along.

The way he puts words together is so creative and innovative! It's very good! Stay in peace!!!

Jermaine Dupree

My favorite underrated rapper is Curren$y. Although he took a different path, he paved the way for more like-minded rappers. It is very insidious. It's the same thing, the same thread and the same level of arrogance. It's more interesting than anyone would like.

NLE Choppa

My favorite underrated rapper is Gino2x. This man's talent is unmatched, his work ethic is unmatched, everything about him is unmatched! It reminded me a lot of when I first played it, but musically it was way ahead of me! His future is bright!

03 Greed

Everyone hates Koy Lere, but I think his music is very successful.

First I J. Didn't like Cole, but I liked him more. You don't hear it in my country, but he has shown that he has the stamina and ability to stay on top.

A drum kit artist that can be crazy is Whizzy Huncho. Whizzy Huncho is probably the first artist I will include on my next album.

Bun b

My favorite underrated rapper is Baldy James. Consistent high quality work, as well as collaborations with some of the best players in the game, is a credit to his desire to create the best product for himself and his fans.

n9ne technology

King ISO is underrated because I think he is known around the world for his variety of musical styles and the flow that can fit any lyrical situation with the right pace and depth of his musical ideas. More people need to know about this guy and I do my best to let them know.

Monk of Pharaoh

One of my favorite underrated rappers is Inspector Rhyme MC Percy P. I met him at the High School of Art and Design. The dignified home of late Mobb Deep prodigy Kwame and my organized confusion partner Prince Kavita. Percy P rods are amazing. His polysyllabic rhymes elevated poetry above anything else on the market at the time. God, we don't even rhyme then. To be honest, my name is Mailbox Man and I help make the bits that rock the host at the dinner table. Percy P has recorded records with the legendary Lord Fiennes and Madlib and will continue to be a reference for those who accompany him on stage.

Joey bra$$

I thought Joey was big a$$. How is that possible? Because like most people in the world he has an incredible talent.

Dean Hitchcock

My favorite underrated rapper... Before I say it, I want everyone I mentioned to know that I meant no disrespect or anything. I've always heard of being insulted and I know how uncomfortable it can be. My favorites are Big KRIT, Peewee Longway and Big Boi. KRIT has one of the best southern rap catalogs of all time He raps on the same level as J Cole with me, plus he produces and produces! easy choice PV Longway is like Atlanta's unsung hero. Many of the currents and rhythms used throughout the industry are now borrowed from blue M&Ms. Big Boy is a superstar, a megastar even, but I think he's often underrated because he's been around. Andre is an alien and Big Boy is a monster. It's always like that. I loved the charisma and anchor he brought to The Cast. It gives roots to the plant which must grow to great heights.

More

Rob49 is my favorite underrated rapper, he is a new generation. He has a different voice, airy and slow. Two of my favorite Rob49 songs are "Yes You Did" and "Undefeated".

Pat Traplandia

Some of my favorite underrated rappers are Chief Keef, Fabolous, GT, Drago Beno, Lud Fo, Babyface Ray, Young Nudie, and Kodak Black. All of these artists have a small, but huge influence on modern hip-hop.

saturday

"Underrated" can mean anything to me. I don't think a lot of rappers are overrated, so I think a lot of them are underrated.

I'd pick Mos Def or Yassin Bey, because historically he's always been great; Legendary freestyle, great variety, great voice, great album. He is simply a great historical figure to be respected.

And he's still better than most rappers. It seemed to me that the older a man is, the more he has. A good career as an actor. Yes, I'll go with Yasin. Can we catch it? Available? What can we include in this project?

Mavin

Ruler Drak also. He has his own lexicon: He brought a fresh coat of paint to the Los Angeles scene. Mr. Until his death, Duff had a huge impact on rap. It changed the terms they used in rap, it changed the aesthetic of South Central LA rap... it was a huge influence in that way. He's So Clever: He raps from the point of view of the Sly Devil, the Purple Devil Emoji.

Architect Eric

I think my favorite underrated rapper was Big Pon. I think when he died at 28, even though he was only able to release two studio albums, he still showed a lot of original talent, and I'm sure that wasn't exactly promoted in hip-hop. Of course, I've always shared his love of comics (The Punisher) and it's reflected in his narrative writing, charisma and puns. I love how he portrays New York from the perspective of a late 90s city boy. As a Brooklynite, I don't have an entirely accurate idea of what it was like to live in the Bronx (the mecca of hip-hop). Baby and Poon really answered a lot of questions I had as a child. He has such a fast flow and fast delivery that I think only he can match himself. I think he fell into a deep sleep because he died too soon, but the songs that made us strong are still hits. I think he's the first Latin American solo hip-hop artist to go platinum! Rest in peace, well played.

Malone glasses

LL Cool J was hip-hop's first superstar. A true golden boy of the genre. The list of LL number one countries continues to grow. His war record is outstanding. Consistently, she represents the culture in mainstream eyes with grace and elegance. It is never exhausted, the flow is never sacrificed. Couldn't make it into the top 10 for some reason.

WBO is dirt

My favorite underrated rap artist is OMB PG because he explains his life in a way that most people don't, I feel. The real one understands what he's talking about.

very beautiful

It has to be the E-40, the largest ever built and it survived. Not just Pillars and Kings Bay, but the entire west coast. He is one of the most talented artists we have ever seen and the creator of all the slang and culture we hear and see every day.

Rhyma basta

Marciano Rock. Many are afraid to rhyme with it.

Jura Soup 5

The Grand Pooba Maxwell has what it takes to be a truly great MC! Anything, he can do it, his verses are amazing (see "Masters of Ceremonies" and Nubian label's debut album) style, style, style that he has, his mid-verse changes, songs, feelings, he uses his own. Slang (oh, this guy's a freak, really) he writes for others and he can produce (stop acting) and I won't mention the fact that he's the only reason Tommy Hilfiger made him popular with Hip Boss 90's Hop (it (PUBA baby!!)

Vic Mensah

The most underrated rapper for me is Big L In my opinion, he is one of the most skilled and technically advanced punchlines

Calboy

In my opinion, the most underrated rappers of all time are Atlanta rappers JID and Earthgang, whose bars are often overlooked. Perhaps I will intervene as a foreigner.

Ella J.

My brother J Dilla is one of the most underrated rappers of all time. I think the production is so good that it overshadows the lyrics. Producers at the time, who also rapped, didn't enjoy the love much either. This is somewhat ironic, as it is hip-hop producers who create the image of most rappers whose careers are outside of hip-hop.

Mr. Mix-Many

In my opinion, the most underrated rapper right now is Tech N9ne. He fell asleep because he had been so independent for so long. Excellent skills, multiple sources of income and his business game is very good.

Brian Michael Cox

Redman because it makes the underworld crazy! His skills as a producer are high level and he has achieved success in his own right.

MF Doom is known for his unique style and all the new big players look up to him in awe. People like Kanye, Mos Def and even Drake love MF Doom.
