This New Steam Deck Accessory Gives Your System A Game Boy Color GlowUp

This New Steam Deck Accessory Gives Your System A Game Boy Color GlowUp

JSAUX, an independent provider of electronics accessories, takes pride in creating products that enhance the experience for technology owners. There's a product this week that Steam Deck owners may be interested in, especially if they have a history with Nintendo.

On June 2nd, JSAUX did its final Kickstarter push for OmniCase 2 on Reddit. In the same post, JSAUX announced that they would be releasing "several new accessories" for the Steam platform. It includes a photo of one of the accessory prototypes, which looks suspiciously like the front panel combined with a Game Boy Color-style transparent back panel for Steam consoles.

JSAUX has released the Translucent Back Steam Deck, which is available on their official website and on Amazon. If this really was the front panel, a fully painted steam enclosure would soon become a reality. All that's left to do is wait for confirmation.

If you are interested in JSAUX Clear Back Plate for Steam Deck, you can find it on the market now. It comes in a very transparent color reminiscent of the original Nintendo consoles and controllers. You can buy a single board for about $25 or a kit with boards and fans for about $45. The JSAUX transparent backplate also features three rear buttons which the owner can customize as desired. Varying button heights affect the feel of the Steam deck as you play.

According to the official list, this is a complete list of parts included in every JSAUX Clear Back Plate:

  • 1 transparent back plate
  • 1 screwdriver
  • 1 stick broken
  • 1 thermal paste (stick on back panel)
  • 4 buttons in original version
  • 4 button down
  • 4 buttons above
  • 16 screw buttons
  • 10 back plate screws
  • 10 antistatic gloves

On both deals, the backplate is now discounted. You need to apply a promo code to an official offer, but Amazon has it applied automatically. Depends on where to buy. After that, all that remains is to enjoy the transparent view of your hard work and wait for the message on the faceplate.

The products discussed here have been independently selected by our editors. GameSpot may receive a share of the proceeds if you purchase something featured on our site.
