A startup that helps players get better at sports games like FIFA and F1 by analyzing their own player data has just raised $1.8 million in funding.

The London-based Titan Academy was founded in 2014 by Porsche racing instructor Max Teichert, who was a finalist in the Gran Turismo Academy.

The startup has developed an automated learning platform that analyzes user data to provide automated feedback on how to improve. Users pay a monthly subscription and receive personalized feedback.

"By taking game data from players and analyzing it in the cloud, we help them get better," Teichert told Insider. "We currently have a competitive gaming platform on the market and our first FIFA analytics platform in development."

Titan Academy takes the player's previous actions and uses them to generate detailed information such as B. to inform users when to brake or make the next turn. While the current customer base is mostly "hobby gamers who just want to beat their friends," the goal is to help players of all skill levels, Teichert said.

In addition, the startup's platform can be expanded to broader use cases, from B2B purposes for team intelligence and analytics to real-world sports betting, said investor and board member Paul Nego.

The round was led by venture capital backed investment giant Blackstone of Romanian sports betting company Superbet. Other investments came from childcare platform Koru Kids and London-based venture capital firm Ascension, which backed Berlin-based consumer fintech Plaint, Concept Ventures and VC APX.

With the new funding, the startup will continue to expand its racing game platform and also launch its first FIFA analytics platform. It will also expand its B2B offering and increase its product and technology staff.
